Abstract

The competitiveness of the steel industry is one of the pillars of the economic and social development of a country, since its demand is very broad and the boost of the global economy favors the imports and exports of it. The steel industry ranks second, after oil and gas, with a volume of crude steel production of 1 689 billion tons. The main objective of this article is to identify the factors that drive competitiveness in the steel industry among the main international leaders through the review of different recent investigations on the subject.
