A study was conducted to analyze the information security perceptions and practices of university students in the first and last semesters of an undergraduate program in Administration. The aim of this work was to look for differences between the responses of both groups. Sixty students participated; all of them were from Generation Z (they were born after 1995). Thirty of them were from the first semester, and thirty were from the eighth. The same questionnaire was applied to all of them. To determine significant statistical differences, t tests for independent groups were performed. The results show that eighth semester students backed up their information more often (t(46)=-2.29, p = 0.02), requested more help from specialized computer professionals (t(58)=-2.65, p = 0.01), and used longer passwords (t(58)=-2.28, p = 0.01). The weaknesses detected were taken into consideration, and a University Cyber-security training and awareness proposal was made.
