The present article is a descriptive and exploratory study of the case of the companies Inditex and Mango, whose purpose is to know the strategies of sustainable development that they have implemented in their supply chains and the impact they had on the sales of each group and If they contribute to the fulfillment of the principles established by the United Nations Global Compact Initiative. To meet this objective, information was reviewed from both corporations as well as the Sustainability Reports of each and literature on sustainable development, sustainability and the United Nations Global Compact initiative. This allowed us to identify which strategies have been implemented by each organization, the results obtained and the evolution in sales, cost of sales and gross margin for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015. The results show that the strategies have contributed to a sustained growth in sales and which are conspicuously compliant with most of the principles of sustainable development promoted by Global Compact by identifying an area of opportunity for anti-corruption strategies which is one of the categories that forms part of this United Nations initiative.
