Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Propaedeutic Course: Application of a Paired t-test

The objective of the research is to measure the effectiveness of the didactic material proposed for new undergraduate students. This material was designed by the academy of professors of the areas of exact sciences who evaluated the key points to develop during the propaedeutic course of the students. The verification of the effectiveness of the material leads to a correct plan of continuous improvement in the preparation and adaptation of high school students to the bachelor's degree program. The research design is of a confirmatory quantitative deductive type, through hypothesis tests, estimation of parameters with confidence intervals, statistical inference, descriptive analysis, graphs, among others. A representative sample of incoming students of the propaedeutic course of January 2023 was selected. In addition, information was collected from different impact references that deal with the educational topic and how the different careers and propaedeutic courses work around the world. The results conclude with 95% confidence that the proposed didactic material is efficient for the newly admitted students, in addition to raising their grade between 2 and 10 points, with an average improvement of 4 points.
