Understanding how innovation happens in SMES and how contributes to the economic growth is an important academic field of study. Innovation is a key player to achieve full growth, helping to shape resilient economies and deliver stability in industrialized countries and emerging markets. New business models, products and services are been developed to contribute to the 2030 Agenda. SMEs are the backbone of global economy, they represent 90% of business and generate 50% of employment. SMEs have been always in the front line of innovation. Globalization, hyper competence and digital transformation have forced SMEs to reinvent themselves and maintain a competitive advantage in a fast-paced economy. This paper presents the outcomes of a research investigation that used surveys and statistical analysis to identify innovation drivers. The main objective is to link the relationship among innovation and leadership, strategy, organizational structure, organizational culture, innovation capability in Mexican manufacturing SMEs.
