Footwear production is one of the main artisan activities
in Latin American countries. The present study tries to
identify, from a theoretical review, the factors that drive
the internationalization of MSMEs in the footwear sector
through an associativity model (Cluster). This research
focuses on the analysis of empirical and theoretical
studies that have been carried out in business groups
from other geographical sectors and that have studied
factors such as: training of the workforce, acquisition of
technology, promotion of product innovation, the
consolidation of the supply, the orientation to the foreign
market and the support of the triple helix (university,
government and company). These studies will allow to
give a theoretical support to the factors that are analyzed
and to base the relationship with the internationalization
process.
