The purpose of this research is to define the key
elements of the theoretical framework for the
analysis of the factors that affect the level of
trust of citizens in their local governments. The
result of this work is the establishment of a
survey that will be the basis for the preparation
of a second stage of the investigation, where a
quantitative analysis will be carried out on the
importance of these factors that affect the level
of trust in local governments.
The deficient amount of research and analysis on
the problem both in Latin America and
particularly in Ecuador, fully justifies this
research.
