This article aims to analyze the relevance of
management skills and the characteristics that
leaders of an organization must possess in order to
successfully face the complex dynamics of the
business environment, as well as its impact on the
implementation of planning elements within a small
company (SME) located in the city of Mexicali, also
highlighting the benefits of having these type of
companies represents as a very important business
sectors within Mexican economic activity and the
disadvantages, in relation to large companies, they
tend to have due to their structural characteristics.
This work has been based on a review of relevant
articles, magazines and books. The advances here are
the results of the first stage of research based on the
literature review and the validation of the instrument
for measuring managerial skills.
