El impacto del género en el comercio electrónico de los jóvenes universitarios del noreste de México

Thanks to the use of technology specially to the increasing exploitation of the Internet, the digital economy is in continuous development, many activities are done through this medium, one of these activities is the electronic commerce. The present study analyzes the differences and similarities that exist between men and women when making electronic purchases. A survey was conducted among 200 young university students whose ages range from 17 to 23 years old, of which 50 % were female and the other 50 % were male. The results of the surveys showed that there are marked differences regarding to gender aspects and how they make purchases through electronic commerce. The findings in this research are very interesting and relevant due to the impact they have on the digital economy. The companies dedicated to electronic commerce must establish strategies considering these differences.
