Sistema Integral de Sustentabilidad y Competitividad Empresarial: Transición estratégica a través del IPC Sustentable

Sustainability is increasingly becoming an indispensable element for companies; It has contributed to the organizations’ success by integrating objectives according to the: economic, ecological and social concerns, increasing their competitiveness. Investors around the world consider very importantly the open disclosure of information related to sustainability for decision making. Through this paper it is possible to identify and study the importance of sustainability in today’s business environment, studying the maturity level of 20 companies listed in the Sustainable Index of the Mexican Stock Exchange within the adoption of an Integral Sustainability System. The results of the bibliographic review confirm the importance of the sustainability strategies implementation in the
companies towards a sustainable future, and the analysis of the self-assessment reports shows that they reach a 43 % level of integration.
