Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the behavior of university students that affect their academic integrity and take it as a basis to design strategies that educational institutions can carry out in the face of academic dishonesty and to be able to offer quality education. The design of this research has a quantitative approach, descriptive, transactional, non-experimental and uses bibliographic and field techniques. The survey-type instrument carried out by McCabe was used, applied to 424 university students of the bachelor’s degree in administration, at a public University in the State of Nuevo León, in Mexico. Among the results obtained, it was found that most students do not admit to have carried out actions of academic dishonesty, in the three dimensions; However, they accept that other colleagues do, and mention that the Internet is the main source of information to obtain works done by others or fragments of them. Finally, some strategies that educational institutions must carry out to reduce actions of academic dishonesty in students are described.
