The research aims to identify whether the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is associated with plagiarism in the coursework of the Industrial Engineering and Management educational program, drawing on literature and experiences provided by higher education faculty. In the educational environment, the word plagiarism has become increasingly prominent, with the concept becoming more receptive to the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into academic activities. A survey was administered to a group of students as a representative sample. After collecting the data, a descriptive analysis was conducted, confirming that integrating Artificial Intelligence into academic activities poses a challenge for both teachers and students; it is understood that this tool facilitates access to information; however, guidelines must be established to ensure its proper use, allowing it to enhance academic processes rather than generating ethical conflicts in educational programs.
