Building a digital citizenship in the 21st century, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) is a significant challenge, which highlights issues, from the modernization of public administration to the adaptation to technological innovation. The objective of the research was to analyze the perspective of Nuevo León citizens on the adoption of AI-based technologies in public administration and influencing the construction of digital citizenship. A quantitative approach was used, with a cross-sectional design and a descriptive scope. The sample consisted of 319 respondents, selected through Simple Random Sampling (SRS), and the instrument was a 12-item digital survey with a Likert-type scale. Among the most outstanding results were that 63.6% agreed or strongly agreed that collaboration between the public and private sectors is fundamental for the effective implementation of AI in the administration. In conclusion, the adoption of AI-based technologies in public administration requires close collaboration between the public and private sectors, a strategic vision to take advantage of their potential to improve the efficiency of services, and a continuous investment in modern and secure technological infrastructure.
