Abstract

Today's companies face innumerable challenges and this is no exception for Small and Medium Enterprises. SMEs are continually seeking to optimize their resources and capabilities to improve their business performance and become increasingly competitive in the market. For this reason, the purpose of this research work is to carry out a theoretical study, through the available empirical data, which allows to know the existing influence between information technologies and business performance. For this purpose, the variables under study were analyzed from a theoretical perspective and the following findings were found. Some authors agree that there is a significant influence of IT Capabilities on business performance, however, in some cases, this needs to be mediated by some other variables. In addition, it was found that some researchers agree that IT investments are increasingly important for competitive and future business development.
