Survivor syndrome and downsizing

Abstract

The survivor syndrome has been object of studies in the last few years, by different spheres of Society. The present investigation proposes the study of this set of feelings and behaviors on people who have overcome a downsizing, taking persons who work in enterprises of technology in the Metropolitan area of Monterrey as the object of the study. The results show that most of the people interviewed did not feel any job security, that the dismissals of other people changed their behavior and that they were not informed about their own permanence and also the reason why these dismissals were presented in the organization.
