The objective of this study is to characterize the current and future leadership that employees of the Mexican organization have mentioned in this qualitative study. The method used is an open-ended interview to obtain the stated objectives. Once the responses were transcribed, MAXQDA software was used to code and analyze them. Forty-seven male and female employees and middle managers were interviewed to understand their perceptions of the responses regarding Mexican leadership based on their experience. A broad literature review was conducted to compare it with the findings obtained. These findings characterized both types of leadership, including literal mentions by the participants. Likewise, comparisons were obtained between genders and generational groups. These findings were compared with the obtained theory, thus supporting the various themes of the theory. It was concluded that the objectives and purpose were met, which allowed for bridging the gaps between both types of leadership, obtaining contributions to the knowledge of leadership in the Mexican context.
