Dynamics between foreign direct investment and Mexican innovation: evidence from a Panel VAR model

This document analyzes the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and innovation in the federal entities of Mexico, using a panel autoregressive (PVAR) method of the variables FDI and patents developed by Mexicans from 2006 to 2025. The results indicate that there is a positive relationship in innovation through the generation of patents derived from FDI, and these elements contribute to the discussion in the sense that they indicate a positive relationship between FDI and patents.
