Financial Evolution of GRUMA S.A.B. de C.V. 2017-2021

In this work, a complete investigation of GRUMA group, which is the leader in Mexico as a producer of corn flour and tortillas, GRUMA is currently present in more than 110 countries, through its brands that are recognized worldwide: Maseca and Mission. Being a 100% Mexican company, it is very interesting to see its trajectory and how it has managed to position itself in international markets. The work methodology is based on the analysis of the financial ratios of liquidity, profitability, productivity and leverage based on the financial reports released by the company in the last five years, from 2017 to 2021. The most outstanding finding is the verification of the hypothesis, Which points out that a company with a high leverage level can improve its profitability since it presents an aggressive attitude in the protection of its markets. One of the limitations of this research is that the period of analysis is restrictively short.
