Alternativas de producción del nopal en el Estado de México

The present investigation studies the productive process of the cactus of the region of the Valle de Teotihuacan, as well as, the necessity that they have to expand its market by means of the elaboration of derived products, the objective is to present diverse production alternatives, some of which promote the social entrepreneurship, contributing to the generation of employment sources and promoting the economic development of the region and the country, considered within the emerging economies of the world. It is a mixed study conducted under a methodology of exploratory scope and with sequential explanatory design, statistical data published by the Agri-Food and Fisheries Information Service were analyzed, surveys were applied to the producers to identify the characteristics of their production and the challenges they face, it was determined what type of production is more convenient and suggesting alternatives.
