The purpose of this study is to examine the components that make up subjective well-being in Mexico, considering the distribution by state. A descriptive methodological approach was adopted, based on data provided by the BIARE (INEGI, 2024). The results show that the aspects best valued by the population include family coexistence, the sense of vital purpose and the experience of positive emotions such as enthusiasm and satisfaction. At the other extreme, the least favorable aspects are linked to personal burdens, since a considerable proportion of people expressed feeling overwhelmed by their daily responsibilities and difficulties; in addition, the emotional balance index was among the lowest. In geographical terms, the entities with the highest levels of well-being were Mexico City, Nuevo León, Chihuahua and Tamaulipas, while Michoacán, Puebla and Oaxaca registered the most unfavorable figures. The results obtained contribute to identifying the most relevant elements that affect the perception of happiness among Mexicans. In turn, understanding these dimensions is key to formulating public interventions aimed at promoting better living conditions.
