Competitive opportunity for nopal candy produced in Jocotitlán for consumption in the Toluca Valley, 2017

The nopal is a plant with nutritional properties that has not increased its presence in the market given the lack of competitive opportunities for consumption. In the municipality of Jocotitlán, Mexico, regardless of their economic activities, some families produce the sweet cactus, which only marketed locally by staking their growth, however, this is due to the lack of information on their nutritional properties by consumers Real and potentials of the cactus. The Valley of Toluca was chosen for the population movement that occur among its municipalities. This qualitative - descriptive research had as objective to analyze the competitive opportunity of nopal sweet elaborated in Jocotitlán for its consumption in the inhabitants of the Valley of Toluca, 2017. A survey and evaluation of the sweet of nopal was applied to the representative sample of 400 people To know their opinions. The results were that they are willing to consume the proportion of sweet nopal suggested by the nutritionists and the acquisition would be made in grocery stores or in local markets, to mention some answers, which translates into competitive opportunities, where they benefit the two Parties: producers and consumers, keeping the nopalero market dynamic. Government intervention is suggested that promote support focused on the commercialization of this type of product.
