The companies that carry out international trade operations face an important variable, the exchange rate, which affects the volume of commercial transactions and the profit level of the companies, thus giving rise to an exposure to foreign exchange risk, in this topic, SME face big challenges due to the lack of knowledge of tools to mitigate this risk and the lack of financial education. The purpose of this article is to analyze the exposure to the volatility of the exchange rate, due to the high commercial volume of Mexico with China and the United States and to deepen in the different mechanisms and tools to mitigate the losses due to the changes in the prices of the currencies, as are forwards, currency swaps and options.
