Análisis del éxito en los proyectos: un repaso de la historia

Resumen

A lo largo de los años, la definición de éxito en los proyectos se ha convertido en un tema de interés para estudiantes y profesionales. Diversos investigadores e instituciones han contribuido con sus propias definiciones de lo que el éxito de proyectos puede significar. Incluso algunos autores han llegado a separar la definición de éxito de proyectos, del éxito en la gestión de proyectos, para referirse al éxito conseguido en el proceso de ejecutar los proyectos, sin importar el resultado final del mismo. El hecho que el éxito pueda significar diferentes cosas para diferentes personas, lo convierte en un fenómeno difícil y retador de explicar. En este artículo se tiene como objetivo, efectuar un repaso de las definiciones de éxito de proyectos a través de la historia, y su evolución, comprobando que los factores que ayudan a definirlo han sido influenciados por diversas circunstancias relacionadas con acontecimientos propios de su época: esde enfocarse en el método, pasando por el ya conocido triángulo de hierro, considerar las necesidades de los stakeholders, y hasta incluir la sostenibilidad de las organizaciones, son factores que se han considerado relevantes en la definición del éxito de proyectos.
